Businesses I’ve Helped
A Decade & A Half of Experience
Over the past 15 years I have held a lot of different job titles. And that is not because I didn’t like specific disciplines, it's because I always wanted to position myself where I could make the biggest impact in an organization, even if that meant learning new skills. The experience I bring to the table has 3 significant benefits:
Firstly, I can much more quickly assess a situation and make decisions drawing on past experience.
Secondly, working for so long in the industry I’ve become really efficient at what I do. That means that less time is wasted on trying to figure out where to act, and more time is spent on enacting plans and hitting goals.
Thirdly, I know how the whole “machine” works. Having been involved in almost every level of creative & marketing departments, large and small businesses, start ups and even government, I can take a birds eye view of things and understand how what I am responsible for might affect another department or what implications it has to other teams in the organization.
I bring your team a wealth of knowledge and experience gained over a long period of time.
A Wide Breadth of Knowledge
I come to your team bringing expansive knowledge of multiple creative disciplines, marketing strategies & channels, digital advertising, creative process, buyer psychology and more, in both B2B & B2C businesses.
A Mind For Business
In addition to the creative side of my work, I also bring a passion for business and an understanding of how businesses operate to the table. This means I can make decisions that positively impact the business overall, in addition to thinking through systems and processes that would increase the businesses efficiency.
A Knack For Thinking Outside the Box
Through the last decade and a half I have had to come up with plenty of solutions that required thinking more broadly. I bring the skill of asking great questions and thinking outside of the norm to the table, which can help me to find solutions others might not.
A Multidisciplinary Player
I bring the ability to create in many different mediums - leadership, strategy, graphic design, ui/ux design, brand, video, web, advertising and more. Plus I bring the ability to be a coach, to lead teams, project manage and provide oversight.
A Passion for Systems, Structure & Process
I believe that systems are a key part of success for repeatable results. If you can guarantee the process, you can guarantee the product. So part of what I bring to the table is the ability to set up or refine the processes and systems that make a business, department or marketing team run.
A Leader To Successful Teams
I truly do believe that teamwork makes the dream work. That's why I have honed my leadership skills over the years to be able to lead others well. I love coaching and inspiring others to achieve ambitious goals and grow in their skills and talents.
I bring a lot to the table, and at the centre of everything is a deep passion for the work I do and a good old-fashion work ethic. I work well with others and love to collaborate because I believe the best idea, best solution or best strategy should always win.
I also have many years of leadership experience under my belt so I am able to coach others and guide them toward a common goal.
Questions You Might Be Asking
What are you looking for in your next role?
I’m looking for 3 main things in a role at this stage in my career. Firstly, I want somewhere with an upward trajectory and potential for growth. Whether that be moving up to more senior leadership roles, or expanding horizontally to overseeing more products, I want to grow.
Secondly, I’m looking for a product or service that excites me and that I believe in. I want to put my efforts into a business that I believe in And you want someone on your team that believes in your business. So this is definitely a win win.
Lastly, I am looking for a primarily remote role. I explain in more detail in another FAQ but in general this allows me to be a part of a company that is much farther reaching than my local area and affords me opportunities to do work I love while also being close to my friends and family, who are a big part of my life.
What attracted you to apply for a job at my company?
This answer will differ slightly, but in general I choose to apply for roles where I can see a longer term future. I want to work somewhere I can set roots down and really make a difference, and that doesn’t happen overnight. So if you’re here because I applied, then that's something I saw in your company.
Why are you seeking a remote role?
For me remote work is a huge launching pad. It allows me to work with farther reaching companies and make a broader impact than I could in certain in-person roles.
It also affords me the opportunity to work with a business that might be outside of my geographical area, which provides more options for me to get behind amazing products or services.
Plus, my friends and family are a huge part of my life and so remote work allows me to still be close to them when I’m not working.
Remote work also suits me because I love to blast instrumental music while I work and so I bother far less colleagues this way. Remote work for me is a launching pad to bigger opportunities and a greater impact, which is something I am looking for at this stage in my career.
Why Don’t You Have Social Media?
For someone who often markets on social media you think I’d be all over it. But I’ve found for me personally, it became more of a distraction than a development tool. There is a lot of great content out there, but these days I’d rather spend more of my time creating it than consuming it.
I do stay up to date through blogs and other resources so I can fully understand the ever changing landscape of digital marketing on socials though.
